Buying an infrared sauna
How to decide whether an infrared sauna fits your routine and your room, and what to confirm about size, access and electricity before you buy.

Before you begin
Before choosing a cabin, check the delivery route, the space needed around it and the electrical connection. Try the seating and controls if a suitable model is available to view. The guide below explains the Paire specification, the costs to include and how to read an electricity-use estimate.
Will a cabin fit the way you use your home?
Think about when you would realistically use a sauna and how you would get to it. You will want somewhere to leave a towel, change and move comfortably around the cabin. Start with those everyday needs before comparing lighting or audio features.
If the only available spot is awkward to reach or difficult to service, pause before ordering. Draw the cabin and its door swing on your room plan, then check the manufacturer’s required clearances. A footprint that fits on paper is only the first check.
Back to contentsInfrared and traditional saunas
Infrared and traditional saunas create warmth differently. Infrared cabins use radiant heaters that warm you directly; traditional saunas heat the cabin air with a heater. A steam room is a third, distinct category. The word sauna alone does not tell you what you are choosing, so establish which experience you want.
Choose the warmth you find comfortable. Paire is an infrared cabin, so follow its own operating instructions. In the showroom, sit down and try the controls. Ask how the settings change the experience and whether it suits the way you would use the cabin at home.

The Paire JSA-NAW-DLX9022
The Paire JSA-NAW-DLX9022 is a two-seater infrared cabin in hemlock, measuring 130 × 105 × 190 cm. Its heater is rated at 2490W, and it includes LED lighting, Bluetooth audio and a digital control.
Use those dimensions to start your room plan. They describe the assembled cabin; they do not tell you the packaging size, door clearance or installation space. Ask for the current UK installation instructions and confirm these details with the supplier before ordering.

Access is an early question in any sauna project. Ask how the cabin is packaged, the dimensions and weight of the largest delivery components, and how it will be assembled. Then review the route from the delivery vehicle to its final position, including doorways, turns and stairs, with the delivery team.
In the room, check the door swing, space to approach the cabin and the manufacturer’s required clearances. Ask your installer to review the electrical supply, cable route, ventilation and suitability of the intended location. Confirm those details before preparing or decorating the room.

Plan a showroom visitTry the seating, door and controls
Sit down and check the seat, back support, headroom and space around your knees. If two people will normally use the cabin, ask whether you can assess the seating together. A two-seater label cannot tell you how comfortable it will feel for you.
Open the door and try the digital controls from the seat. Can you read the display and reach the settings comfortably? Ask what the lighting controls offer and how the Bluetooth audio works, then decide whether these features matter to you.

Budgeting and understanding electricity use
Ask for a quote that separates the cabin, delivery into the intended room, assembly, any electrical work and preparation of the space. Confirm who checks the cabin after installation and what support is included.
The Paire’s 2490W heater rating equals 2.49 kilowatts (kW). Your electricity bill charges for kilowatt-hours (kWh), the amount of energy used over time. To compare a consumption estimate, multiply the kWh by your own electricity unit rate.
Worked example for the heater alone: if it drew its full rated power continuously for 30 minutes, it would use 2.49 × 0.5 = 1.245 kWh. Multiply 1.245 by your electricity rate in pence per kWh to get that example’s cost in pence. This is an arithmetic example, not a measured session cost or a suggested duration. Actual cabin consumption depends on warm-up, how the heater is controlled and other electrical components. Ask what the manufacturer’s estimate includes.
Back to contentsMaintenance and visiting the showroom
Before ordering, ask to see the care instructions. The timber, heaters, glazing and electronics may each need different treatment. Find out which products are approved, how the cabin should be left after use and what servicing is expected, and keep those instructions with the purchase documents.

Back to contentsQuestions, answered.
Is an infrared sauna the same as a traditional sauna?
They create warmth differently: infrared cabins use radiant heaters, while traditional saunas heat the cabin air. Paire is an infrared model, so follow its specific operating instructions and try the difference before choosing.
Can the Paire cabin be installed outdoors or in a bathroom?
Do not assume so. Its exact clearance, environment and electrical requirements must be confirmed with the manufacturer and your installer for your specific situation.
Will it simply plug in?
Confirm the connection requirements for the exact UK specification with the manufacturer and a qualified installer. Do not assume a connection type or that your existing supply is suitable from the product photograph or heater rating.
What will it cost to run?
Start with a consumption estimate for the exact cabin and the usage it assumes, then multiply its kWh by your electricity unit rate. The 2490W heater rating alone does not give a measured session cost; the worked example above explains the arithmetic.
